God’s Divine Purpose

Have you ever wonder what it would be like not having a purpose, having no hope?  No hope of fulfillment?

Some years ago, I have often wondered about it.  Questions would always fill my mind,

“Why am I here?” or “What was the purpose of me being here?”

I remember, when I was not yet a Christian, I would often asked myself those questions. I did not feel as if there was any significant reason to be here; here today and gone tomorrow was my answer.  However, my life journey began to change my perspective on life and on the Creator.

It dawned on me, some years later, that I was actually here for a purpose and that God made it quite clear. He made us for His pleasure and He is worthy for our honour and praise.

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being” (Revelation 4:11)

Sometimes we feel discouraged and rejected by situations and circumstances that becomes our obstacle to move forward. The very obstacle that may come to rob us from the very blessing that God has promised us.

Last month, I went for a routine checkup and my morning turned out pretty stressful. To cut a long story short, I was, by God’s intervention, began talking to the doctor about our  purpose and faith.  He began to say that many people with little faith are worried about the unknown when they leave this world.

When my time was up, the doctor said that he would begin to practise his faith daily now and after.   I knew at that point there was a purpose for me to be there that afternoon, even though the day had turned out stressful.  I left him knowing that he had a purpose to live, a purpose to know that nothing is done before the time.

Our identity in Christ gives us the understanding of purpose, and His purpose calls us in a unique way.  God’s divine purpose, His love and His favour is what propel us to move closer to Him.

Every struggles that comes our way, comes with a purpose! Purpose that steers or move us to greatness that succeed the plan of God.  His purpose is not defined by our past nor is He limited to our lack of knowledge.

Pay attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you will not have the need to compare yourself to anyone else (Galatians 6:4)

When life itself begin to take its toil on us or our back is against the wall, we should only look up!  By looking up it will remind us that we are not far from God and His right hand is holding us up in times of trouble.

Guess what!  We all fall short of His glory sometimes, but the Good Shepherd will gently bring us, once again, back into line, because we are far from perfect.  But one thing for sure, everything that we may face will act as a test for us to challenge ourselves.

God in His infinite love knows exactly how much we can handle and He knows where, in terms of our destiny, where we need to grow in wisdom. So when we are tested we will, in the end, come out as pure gold if we  stay obedient (Job 23:10).

Another thing came to mind; a mobile phone. Imagine having a mobile still in its box; wrapper and all!   Not being used for the purpose intended;  just sitting in a box.  See, when we sum this up we can now look at this in a analytical sense.  If our purpose are not met and we are not going forward with God’s intention in mind, we will find ourselves stuck in the same box; wrapper and all.

No growth or knowledge cannot be sustainable in a closed box.  Once out of the box the full purpose of what your life was meant to be used for, will now be open to be used for His glory.

We have to also take God out of the box, in order to receive our blessings.  By taking God out of the box our purpose and our lack of knowledge will be strengthened according to His Word.

So, no matter what life throws at us today, we will, we shall, remain victorious and stand strong in Christ.  We serve a great God because He IS our strong Tower and many who run to it are saved.

Its Only a Test!

I believe that every struggles that we face, comes with a purpose.  Purpose that steers us to move towards our greatness!  God’s purpose is not limited to our past. When life gets us down, and I’m sure it sometimes does, and our back is against the wall; look up!

We all fall short sometime, but guess what?  God gently brings us, once again, back in line because we are far from perfect.  Similar to a sheep that has strayed.  Everything that we go through is a test and God knows how much we can handle.  He never gives us more than we can bear.   He knows our destiny, so when we are tested we will come out as pure gold (Job 23:10).  We will remain victorious through adversity.

No weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rise up against us in judgement they shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).  For His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are our ways His ways (Isaiah 55:8).  But every word that comes from God’s mouth will not return void, but will accomplish that pleases Him by preparing the things that He has sent (Isaiah 55:11).

We are again encouraged to pray without ceasing and to rejoice always by giving thanks in all circumstances, because this is what is required from us (1 Thessalonian 5:16-18).

When the feeling of worry, fear and discouragement comes, we are to turn our thoughts into prayer and thanksgiving. In everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving we should make our request known to God (Phillippians 4:6).

When we love ourselves, we will see a difference of change in the areas of our lives as well as our prayers. When our situation gets us down, God is up to something because He knows the plans that He has for us. Plans to prosper us and not to harm us and also plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

imageWhat is Forgiveness?

Forgiveness is an act of strength. Strength that enable you to move on from a situation or person; but not tied to resentment and anger which can turn into bitterness.

Why do we hold on to resentment with someone when we can let go and live?

This is the the thing; and I am not saying that it will be easy to forgive; it may be hard, but the longer you hold on to it the harder it will be to forgive.

I have heard people say, “Forgive and forget.” Forgive and forget can mean that you forgive the offender and move on with your life, because God expects us to forgive, using godly wisdom.

The Bible says “Forgive those who has trespass against us.” (Matthew 6:12).

What does that mean?

Trespass is an act of offence against a person. In order for us to receive God’s blessings and forgiveness when we do wrong; we have to forgive. The sad thing is that when we do not forgive, we leave unresolved issues behind on loved ones who do not have the opportunity to say, “I forgive you.”

Forgiveness brings peace and freedom and it releases you from the power of that person. The only way that you know you have genuinely forgiven that person, is when that person walks into the room and you feel nothing negative; only forgiveness.
We all have one life; a life that should be filled with peace and tranquillity instead of anger or resentment. It is impossible to move on with a heart that is not forgiving and live your life fully.

Is it right for a person to take over one’s life and emotion with an unforgiving heart?

No, absolutely, not!  Forgive, and move on, in order to let go and live your life more abundantly. We should also, forgive ourselves of mistakes that we have made in the past. The past is the past. We should not stay in the past, but use the past to learn from the mistakes!

You may be saying, “It’s easy for you to say because you have never been in my position!” Yes, you may be right. But it does not make one’s hurt emotion different from another person. We have all experienced hurt, rejection and pain from loved ones, strangers and people. No situation is different to another person when it comes down to hurting emotions.

Forgiveness brings healing and with healing brings joy. The act of forgiveness sees blood pressure and heart rate lowered, reducing the levels of depression and anxiety.

Resentment is self-inflicted and will always hurt you more than the person who you are angry with. In fact, the person may have moved on with their life over the years and you’re still worrying about it!! According to the Bible, we have to forgive so that God can forgive us (Matthew 18:22). We cannot expect Him to forgive us when we are holding on to grudges with someone else (Ephesians 4:32).

The key factor is to take a leap of faith and forgive in order to receive your healing through forgiveness.

imageNow the year 2016 is now underway, while we wait in anticipation. What will it bring? Will it bring gladness and  unspeakable joy full of glory or will it bring unhappiness and strife as the battle of excess baggage, piled on us year after year, becomes unbearable!! Oh, my back!

imageThis is the Year of Fresh Oil and New Beginnings that will be pour out abundantly over your life.  In order for this to happen we must:

“Seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first and ALL things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

Take Heart

The God of more than enough

(2 Kings 4)

Have you ever wondered when we take the limits off God we will see things happening in the supernatural. Things that will happen and could not have happen on our strength alone, we will be amazed by what He can truly do.

His appointed time are never the same as our time, because He is a timeless God whose strength is not measured by our own.  He said in His Word (Bible) that He will supply our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). So what more do we want that God cannot do?

His Word also said that we should ask and it shall be given; seek and you will find; knock and the door will open (Matthew 7:7).  Moreover, He feeds the birds of the air who do not sow and reap, neither do they store away anything, but God still feeds them (Matthew 6:26). So why do we worry about what we should eat or drink?

Take heart!

God does not lie and His words does not come back to us void. He is the God of more than enough! When we trust Him at His word He will come through for us. No matter what the problem is He will keep His word, if it is in His will.

“Fear not, for I am with you; do not be afraid, I am your God, I will protect you and I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).

Today, take God out of the box and see Him at His best. When we ask of Him we will see an overflow in our finances, our homes and our children.

Our overdraft will become an overflow in abundance because He is the God of more than enough.

Surviving the Storm

When we hear the word ‘storm’ an image of a turbulent weather associated with wind and rain, comes to mind.

Many of us are going through some storms in our lives. Storms that come to cause us pain and sorrow. Storms that causes a tear to come to our eyes, as we remember past events, that has brought us to the brink of hopelessness and despair.  Can you imagine the storms raging on and on and no sign of ever stopping?

The Bible states in Matthew 8:24-25, Jesus’ disciples were afraid of the storm that was raging whilst He slept.  They actually thought they were a “goner.”

Although our storm can be almost too hard for us to bear at times, however, a sudden change will occur as you ride out the storm. Don’t perish in your circumstances (storm). Because the greater your mission, the greater your storm will be.

What am I saying?  Life is about storms and turbulence and about surviving it. We are not exempt from them, regardless of stature or age. Storms may come to test your faith and it is no respect of person. I am a witness to it.

When the storm has calmed down and you have kept your head above water, you would now know, that you, my friend, have survived the storm by faith.

Abundance of Blessing

Featured Image -- 306

I decree and declare that God will cause a downpouring of blessing to come down in your season; there shall be showers of blessings on you today.

His blessings rest on those who are faithful to Him. His blessings brings righteousness (Psalms 24:5).

It does not matter where you are in your circumstances; there will always be a portion of blessings available to you, if you trust Him.  He will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches (Phillipians 4:19).

We all have gone through the motion of life where we have felt we needed to ‘throw in the towel’ at times. But you only have to wait and be encouraged.

Your situation or circumstances that you are facing right now will not be always like that.  Your blessings is just around the corner; wait and receive it with a grateful heart.

At times when we are not feeling at our best, we find that we cannot wait for the blessing that God has promised us. Just when we are about to receive it, we “…lean on our own understanding“, and find we have missed our blessing.  If only we had only waited a little longer. We get so impatient of waiting, because God’s timing is not the same as our own.

We read in the Old Testament that the people of Israel missed out on the very promise that God had promised them; the Promised Land. Instead of them trusting God at His word, they grumbled and complained (Numbers 14:2).

In today’s society nothing has not changed from the days of old. We blame God for everything that is going on in the world.

Be encouraged: God will make a way when it seems to be no way.

“I will make them and the places round about My hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing” (Ezekiel 34:26).

We decree and declare we will dwell in the midst of infinite abundance because the God that we worship is the God of Abundance.  As we open our hearts to receive what He has promised, we will not be amaze by what He will do in His appointed time.

We will not be burdened by the thoughts of our past or future, and by our actions and our deep rapport with God; our abundance will be made manifest.

I pray that the person who is reading this blog, will receive His overflow of abundant blessing from this day forward. Not only will they be blessed in their finances, but they will be blessed at work and in their family. Showers of blessing will overflow as we receive it, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Tarry a little longer, no matter how long the road ahead seems, He will bring you through it if we wait.
